On Tuesday 4th April, Building Blocks had a Party to celebrate
the launch of our new service, 'SENIOR STEPS'.
The party was fantastic, there we approximately 50 people who attended, from a cross section of the community, so thank you to all of those people who came along to support us.
Sheila Shields, who is the councilor for the Meden Ward,
came along to do the honor of cutting the ribbon at the party
to officially open the Senior Steps service. Sheila said that,
"It was a lovely launch, very well done and well
attended. The staff were great and made a big impression with
their nice and friendly manner. The Senior Steps service is
for older people who need low level support, it encourages
them keep their independence for as long a possible, it's
a wonderful service".
Yvonne Davies, the new manager of the service said -I
am very excited about this new, unique and innovative service.
There is much need for this service within the Mansfield and
Ashfield area. I am very proud of the team as they are all
experienced workers, and are dedicated to promoting independence
to all of our service users. The launch party was an opportunity
to meet the team, and network with all other agencies involved
with older persons services. It proved to be an enjoyable
afternoon!
