We have joined forces with West Notts College for this exciting new development.

Working in conjunction with the College’s Bay 6 Centre we are working to create of a series of Social Enterprises to provide work placements for the learners at the centre.

The Bay 6 centre itself provides a café and educational workplace environment for foundation level learners and learners with learning difficulties. Working with young people that are often overlooked for full time employment we aim to supplement the work of the Bay 6 Centre and enable young people to build the necessary experience, skills and self belief for their future.

To provide some initial focus we are concentrating on the development of the following enterprises:

Harnessing the power of the internet we want to build an ebay business. Our ebay shop was initially created to help local community groups and charities sell collectable item on ebay. So far we have shipped items securely across the globe to far flung places like Australia, Russia and South Africa! This has all been on behalf of our charitable partner the Nottinghamshire Hospice.

The initial sales feedback has been encouraging and customers consistently value our quick delivery, honest communication and secure packaging. Such feedback serves to boost the confidence and esteem of our work placements which is what the project is all about!

Whilst this progress has been great we are still not satisfied and want to reach new heights! Consequently, we are now looking for new Corporate Sponsors who are looking for an opportunity to embrace the Corporate Social Responsibility agenda. This support could be through the supply of clearance stock for sale or through the supply of volunteers for team away days. Really the opportunities and possibilities are endless.

Picture Rental

Ever been sat in a boring reception area ? If so we have the answer! The picture rental business will allow local organisations to rent pictures created by local students. The service is ideal for all reception areas schools, GP surgeries, dentists or local businesses. Invest in a season ticket in return for a service which regularly installs and rotates new pictures. All this and our young people get the buzz of seeing their work in public!

And, as with all our other enterprises, all the custom we receive helps to build a sustainable Social Enterprise based in the Nottinghamshire community.

There are many benefits to volunteering with us and you can make a positive contribution to something that will make a difference in the lives of young people. You will have the opportunity to build new skills, learn and have some fun, you can also access careers support from our Information Advice and Guidance (IAG) workers... and volunteering work looks fab on your CV!

We value our volunteers as highly as our paid staff and consider them part of the team. We will provide Supervision and feedback on your performance. It could be your suggestions as volunteer that help us to solve a problem.
