SUPPORT & SUSTAINMENT SERVICE




Our support and sustainment service is delivered to individuals with mental health issues or emotional difficulties, in their own homes, in order to make their lives more sustainable, the type of support offered depends on the individual needs of the client.

Support offered may range from housing issues, finance, budgeting, to emotional support.

Individuals support may range from an hour visit a week, to more in depth support.

We offer a support plan based on clients own particular needs, and we are keen to involve clients in designing the support plan. The support plan will be reviewed on a regular basis.

Building Blocks are very committed to getting our clients involved in making the services better. So we want to hear your comments about what we do, good and bad. We have plenty of opportunities for everybody to get more involved if you want to!

EXAMPLES OF SUPPORT

Having opinions and ideas heard by others, e.g. consultants, GP's, family or neighbours

Budgeting and managing money

Helping claim any benefits that clients are entitled to

Help with setting up and maintaining a tenancy

Assistance and advice regarding housing issues

Accessing information about well being

Coping with daily life

Cultural and faith needs

Accessing other support services, e.g.: Family Centre, Sure Start, Counseling, CAB, Drug & Alcohol Services and Mental Health Services.

 

This list just gives some examples of the kind of support we can offer. Ultimately the support service is designed to meet the needs of the client

HOW WE'RE FUNDED

The Support & Sustainment Service is funded by Supporting People. This is funding from the Government to ensure that vulnerable people get access to appropriate support that helps them get on with their lives. Supporting People’s job is to both fund the contracts, and to ensure that we are working at a high standard. SASS is reviewed annually by Supporting People.

The funding from Supporting People means that our service is free to all clients. There’s no means test, you don’t have to be on a particular benefit. It’s free!
